This is a Soviet era Poljot automatic men’s watch, housed in a steel and gold two-tone rectangular case and fitted with a beautiful salmon dial. The dial features bold black Roman numerals, a framed minute track, and a discreet date window at 6 o’clock, giving the watch a refined and balanced appearance. At around 35mm across, it wears comfortably while standing out for its distinctive design.

Poljot, founded in 1961 out of the historic First Moscow Watch Factory, quickly became one of the Soviet Union’s most respected watchmakers. The brand’s name, meaning “flight” in Russian, was chosen to commemorate Yuri Gagarin’s first space mission, and Poljot went on to supply mechanical chronographs and automatics to Soviet pilots, cosmonauts, and military officers. Their reputation for reliability and robust construction has made them enduringly collectible today.

This example is in incredible condition, showing almost no signs of wear despite its age. The salmon dial remains vibrant with clear printing, the case is very well preserved, and the automatic movement inside is running well.

A fine piece of Soviet horological history, this Poljot combines striking looks with a rich heritage and reliability.
